PreK 4 Class
Taught by Mrs. Hazen

These classes will emphasize phonemic awareness, pre-spelling, handwriting, and number value concepts. Recognizing and matching a sound with a letter is a key step in learning to read, so the class focuses on phonics daily. Matching a quantity with a number is a basic math skill worked on which then advances into simple addition, patterning, and sequencing. Handwriting is also a concept highlighted daily in class. We continue to guide the children through conflict resolution and acceptable social interactions to help ease them into the school years ahead, and focus on stories of the Bible that define Christ-like character. Memorization is an important method of learning information in this classroom, and Bible verses are committed to memory monthly as well as foundational Biblical truths, and math and science concepts.
Bible Education
Bible stories are taught daily with our older students (PreK[4] and Kinder). Bible education is vastly important as it instills proper moral behavior, develops a sense of community and moral responsibility within each child, and ultimately gives the child a foundation in the Word of God and a love for Jesus. The youngest children are prayed with and sing songs about Jesus daily and focus on a new Bible story on a weekly basis.

Kathy Hazen is one of the brightest “gems” in Treasure Valley. From her warm, genuine welcome every morning to her monthly newsletter, everything exudes her love and investment in the children at Little Miracles. Chat with parents whose kids are in her class, and a common comment is that she’s “one-of-a-kind.” This surely spills over into her oversight and leadership of the staff as their care for these little ones is evident as well. I highly recommend this center for a first experience and introduction into your child’s educational journey.
