Establishing a foundation for success

Here, children practice their first classroom settings. They learn to recognize letters and numbers as well as focus on fun art projects, songs, and Bible stories.

Age appropriate education

We spend a significant amount of time working on socialization, how to behave in a classroom, and peer to peer interaction.

These classes are taught from 9:00am until 12:15pm and emphasize phonemic awareness, pre-spelling, handwriting, and counting. Recognizing and matching a sound with a letter is a key step in learning to read, so the class focuses on phonics daily. Handwriting is also a concept highlighted in class. We continue to guide the children through conflict resolution and acceptable social interactions to help ease them into the school years ahead, and focus on stories of the Bible that define Christ-like character. Memorization is an important method of learning information in this classroom! We also enjoy weekly classes in music, library, and STEM.
